If you have a business "profile" rather than a "personal" profile you will not have the same functionality. Business profiles can not add friends and like across the FB network. It's basically a business profile to administer facebook pages from. You will need to set up a personal profile in order to interact. As it says above you can change to be your "business page" within your personal profile, without having to have a "business profile". Sounds complicated I know!
