Wowzers (I wouldn’t normally use that word but I think this is one occasion it is called for!) Facebook made some mighty big changes this week including to their Newsfeed and there hasn’t been too much positive feedback about it so far!
But hey, you CAN see the “old” Facebook Newsfeed just the way you like it (for now at least) by using the Facebook Lists feature.
Click on lists on the left (that Facebook very kindly during the week probably did a little updating on your behalf )
If you click on one of these lists you will see there is no Ticker, no latest updates from this that and the other, no recent stories etc etc.
So you COULD if you choose to, add all your friends to a new list called “Newsfeed” and use that as your alternative to the “new” Facebook Newsfeed OR you could split all your friends into groups for business, family, friends the way it is intended to be used. The choice is there – sometimes it just takes a little “know-how” 
Chances are you will more than likely get used to the changes within a few days, but I do highly recommend using the lists feature to separate out those feeds you wish to see and those you would like to see less of.
